Stress has been linked to all leading causes of death, including heart disease, cancer, accidents and suicide and it is now believed that over 90% of disease is caused or complicated by stress. It also interferes with sleep, relationships and intellectual efficiency.

Stress, like anxiety, is a primitive reaction tied to the fight/flight response. This is activated in the event of a sudden crisis when we perceive we are in danger, or if we expect that something dangerous may be about to happen. The instinct would have been useful to primitive man as it would have made him better prepared for attacks from predators and rival tribes. But today it is rare that we would need this response, and as you know it frequently causes more problems than it solves.

Hypnotherapy is a proven treatment in the fight against stress. There are three key elements of treatment:

1. Provide you with a thorough, generic and specific understanding as to why you get stressed

2. Improve your capacity to deal with or resolve the things that are causing you stress

3. Develop your skills of relaxation and comfort both generally and in stressful situations.
